Please read the title of this post. These are some early NFL hot takes, spicy opinions on the 2025-2026 NFL Season. These are not the easy takes to make like the Chiefs winning the AFC again or the Jets missing the playoffs. However, I do believe them, hence why I am putting them in writing on the internet.
Cam Ward drafted by the Titans? They will Win the AFC South Division

Probably my hottest sports take of 2025 so far. The Tennessee Titans haven't won their division since they did it back to back years in 2021 and 2022 with Mike Vrabel and Derrick Henry there for both years and A.J. Brown there for 2021. I am not the college football wiz that many are, so I am basing my projection of Cam Ward from the experts. He completed over 65% of his passes his last two college seasons along with 65 TDs to 14 Ints and 12 rushing TDs in that time. Ward having the strong arm with the ability to be a dual threat QB will be crucial for the revamped Titans offense with it being the second year removed from King Henry leaving.
My main reasoning behind why I'm taking the Cam Ward led Titans is because of the Texans last couple of months. Yes they lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs, who doesn't. They put up 14 points and had a hard time protecting their franchise QB C.J. Stroud, getting sacked eight times. They let go a couple of their offensive linemen including Laremy Tunsil this offseason, and with the injury to Tank Dell and the departure of Stefon Diggs, I really don't like the direction the team has been heading from a personnel standpoint. And the Jaguars and Colts just feel like they are in a pit of mediocrity. The Colts have some nice pieces on both sides, but there is a real QB question and maybe even a QB controversy at some point. The Jaguars seem to just almost never get it right. Trevor Lawerence has not lived up to his college career and his 2022 season where he and the Jags won a playoff game for the first time since 2017. So yeah, give me the Titans with Cam Ward to win the AFC South in 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys will finish LAST in the NFC East

Yes you heard it here first: I think the Cowboys will finish last in their division this year. I
don't think is a biased take either. I'm not saying that Dallas will be a three or four win team, I do believe that they made the least improvement of the rest of the NFC East. The Eagles are coming off of two Super Bowl appearances in three years, the reining champion as well. The Commanders just had their best season in 33 years when they won the championship in the 91'-92' season. Did it with a rookie QB and a new head coach in Jayden Daniels and Dan Quinn. They have also made big moves so far acquiring Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel from the 49ers along with some other free agent signings. The New York Giants, yes ill say it, have made real improvements so far by stabilizing the QB room brining in both Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. They may draft Shedeur Sanders if he falls to them in the draft, but if not they can take either DL Abdul Carter or the hybrid cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter. Either of those picks with Malik Nabers in house already with a pretty good defensive line is a much improved team from last year.
The Cowboys have to much instability in the franchise right now to confidently say they will win more games than the Giants next season. Jerry Jones and upper management don't seem to know when to sign their own players paying more money to Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb then they needed to had they signed them months prior to when they signed. Obviously they're paying Dak much more than he's worth right now, he's probably anywhere from the 10th to 13th best QB in the league. They still need to sign Micah Parsons who is going to probably want max money for his position and is still not extended. After the three 12-5 seasons in a row, they went 7-10 last year and while I don't think Mike McCarthy was a top tier coach, they probably downgraded with Brian Schottenheimer. He was not a sought after coach, and in my opinion most teams should be looking for either an experienced veteran head coach or a young upcoming offensive minded leader. I am not sure Schottenheimer is either. Maybe I am wrong and Dallas wins 10 games and makes the playoffs with a healthy Prescott, but I see more of a six to eight win team with the Giants winning a game or two more than Dallas.
